You can`t guess

by Dave
(Toronto)

The Leafs lose once again, this time to the Vancouver Canucks 3-1, the Leafs not playing since last Saturday night could only muster 1 goal against goalie R.Luongo, who has not been playing sharp for Vancouver`s first 9 games before meeting the Leafs at home.

When you look around the league at the different teams, you can`t help to think that a team that is struggling to win like the New York Islanders with only 1 win so far, played the Washington Capitals to a 3-2 loss in overtime, but at least the game was close. Teams are not paying their players millions of dollars to lose hockey games, but when I see the Leafs play that`s exactly what`s happening, the performance on the ice for the millions being payed out merit more than a 1 goal attempt to win this teams first game of the season.

From this point on the most important games for Maple Leaf fans now is defeating Montreal and Ottawa each and every game remaining in the schedule, because as fans can see the Leafs are a win lose hockey club, losing more than they win.
