Toronto Maple Leaf Player
George Armstorng



George Armstrong was born 1930 in Skead Ontario. He wore #10 playing right wing for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Armstrong played 21 seasons with Toronto from 1950 to 1970-71.

Armstrong gave leadership to the Leafs with his steady play, he could be counted on to make safe plays, a good checker he would help keep the puck in his teams possession by creating turnovers.

On and off the ice Armstrong is described as a hockey player with a lot of class.Armstrong helped the Leafs win 4 Stanley Cups in 1962,1963,1964,and 1967. He captained the Leafs for 11 seasons from 1957-58 to 1968-69 a Toronto Maple Leaf team record.

Armstrong had a nickname the "Chief" because of his native heritage.Armstrong holds the Leaf record for most games played at 1,187.
