Jordan Staal was the youngest player in the NHL during his rookie season of 2006-2007.

He turned 18 only a few weeks before the season began. On October 21,2006 he became the youngest player in NHL history to score a goal on a penalty shot.

On February 10,2007 he became the youngest player to ever score a hat trick.
