The best defenseman of his era, Bobby Orr amassed a full trophy case: 8 Norris trophies for being the top defenseman, 3 Hart trophies for the NHL Most Valuable Player, 2 Art Ross Trophies for Top Point Scorer, the Calder Trophy for Rookie of the Year, a Lester B Pearson award for Most Valuable Player selected by the NHLPA, and a Conn Smythe Trophy for the Most Valuable Player in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
All of these trophies were won in his 10 seasons with the Boston Bruins. If Bobby Orr's knees had not ended his career, there would have been even more awards.
He had two important Stanley Cups with Boston, in 1970 and 1972. The Stanley Cup winning goal was scored by Orr both years. But the one in 1970 is the most memorable, in a "flying through the crease" score. You can see photos of that famous goal below.
Orr was a fast skating defensive forward that had been known to skate from his own end of the rink all the way down the ice and around the opposition to score a goal or set up a team mate. From 1970 to 1975 Bobby Orr had more than 100 points in each season of an 80 game schedule.
