A great season for Chicago in 1967, with the most goals 264 scored by a Chicago team in the regular season. The first time the Chicago Black Hawk team had finished in first place in team history, winning the Prince of Wales Trophy for finishing in first place. They had five players finish the regular season in the top ten for league point totals. The leading goal scorer and the number one player for points in the league.
Bobby Hull scored his 50th goal in the regular season and finished with 80 points. Stan Mikita tied the league points record in one season with 97, that had previously been held by Bobby Hull.
Mikita won the Art Ross Trophy for his third time. He also won the Heart Trophy as the most valuable player to his team and the Lady Byng Trophy, this made Mikita the first player in NHL history to win all three Trophies in the same season. The previous season saw Bobby Hull win both the Art Ross and the Heart Trophies.
Stan Mikita`s right winger Ken Wharram finished the season with 65 points and Mikita`s left winger Doug Mohns finished the season with 60 points. Mikita, Wharram and Mohns complemented each other well, Known as the second "scooter" line. The first "scooter" line consisted of Mikita, Wharram and Ab.McDonald.
Phil Esposito finished the season with 61 points, playing with the (Golden Jet) Bobby Hull, who helped Phil`s numbers. After Phil Esposito was traded to the Boston Bruins in 1968, he went on to a great career in Boston, winning two Stanley Cups.
