In Toronto at Maple Leaf Gardens, the fans stood for God Save the Queen, then the game began...
During the regular season Chicago had a team record of 264 goals. They had a very potent offense, that the Leafs knew they must try to contain.
Even though Toronto had won the last two games, the 1967 Toronto Maple Leafs kept the series in perspective, remembering that Chicago won 8 games to Toronto's 4 in the regular season against each other.
Game 4 was hard fought. Chicago's goalie, Glen Hall (replacing Denis Dejordy after the last two losses), was a Vezina Trophy winner. Defenceman Tim Horton of the Leafs had his nose broken from a high stick.
During the game, Chicago's goalie, Glen Hall was replaced by Denis Dejordy because he was hit in the mouth by a shot that gave him 25 stitches and a lost tooth. Even though Glen Hall had played 11 regular seasons without a mask, this was the first time he'd lost a tooth.
